As you can see above this Western Conference means alot to Utah with it being their first Home Conference Final. They will also be relieved to even being in the final now. Seattle opted to go for teh corner late on last week rather than for posts and surrendered a narrow victory. Utah will have a lot to do this week to avoid another repeat of that game, Discipline will be critical for them being in this game. Houston were pretty much in control for most of the game against LA but they were helped by the weather conditions. Having had the game rescheduled a day later than planned and I wonder how much that will have affected them in the preparations for this game too.
Utah are unchanged aswell for the Conference Final, Utah will be hoping to keep their performance up throughout the game this time. Having dropped off in the second half last week. If they keep the discipline and don’t lose players to the sin bin, the backline will look to let fly and put the Houston SaberCats defence to the test. Hodgson will give that kicking threat too from anywhere on the pitch to resolve any territory issues too!
Houston SaberCats stick with the side that managed to see away LA last week too. Pita Anae-Ah Sue will be a continued threat at the lineout mauls, Rufus Mclean and Max Schumacher will continue the threat when give time and space to get at the Utah defensive line. Houston also let LA back in to the game in the latter stages, so could either be a sign the game will peiter out or both teams will have a chance to add to teh jeopardy late on.
Having watched the games last weekend, I think Houston should come out on top in this match up. But it could be a close one.
